Jack Vrett is an Afghanistan War Veteran, a former "BigLaw" partner, and the former Chief Labor Counsel for the State of Illinois. Jack helps businesses, executives, and non-profits solve complex labor and employment law challenges affecting their workforce and work relationships.
Before starting his boutique law practice, Jack was a partner at a large, international law firm where he advised private equity funds, public and private businesses, and non-profit organizations on the full range of labor and employment matters, with an emphasis on labor relations, unionization, collective bargaining, executive employment agreements, non-compete agreements, investigations, and strategic litigation.
As Chief Labor Counsel for Illinois, Jack oversaw all labor and employment law functions for a workforce of nearly 50,000 unionized workers, and as a labor attorney with one of Illinois' top labor law boutiques, he represented employers on labor negotiations, litigation, and internal investigations.
Jack is also a Veteran of the United States Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps where he held multiple assignments including Chief of Federal Litigation, Chief of International & Operational Law, and Special Assistant U.S. Attorney. In 2010, he deployed to Afghanistan with the 101st Airborne Division, and served on training missions to Ukraine and Slovenia.
